Eligibility Criteria for Germany’s Livestock Skilled Worker Program

    Who Can Apply?

    To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must fulfill several academic, professional, and personal criteria.


    Educational Qualifications

    Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields:

    • Agriculture
    • Animal Life Science
    • Animal Husbandry
    • Veterinary Science

    Importantly, degrees must come from universities listed as H+ in the official German Anabin portal, which is used to verify the equivalency of international academic qualifications.


    Work Experience

    Candidates must demonstrate 2 to 3 years of practical experience working with livestock or farm animals. This hands-on experience is essential to ensure readiness for the physical and technical demands of farm life in Germany.


    Language Proficiency

    A minimum B1 level of English is required. Proficiency will be assessed through an interview conducted by EU Helpers, the official recruitment support agency for the program. While knowledge of German is not mandatory, it may be beneficial.


    Additional Requirements

    • Age: Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years old
    • Driving License: Not required, but considered an asset
    • Financial Readiness: Must have the ability to fund travel, visa, and initial living expenses
    • Work Ethic & Physical Fitness: Candidates should be reliable, physically fit, and motivated for hands-on farm work

    Required Application Documents

    (All documents must be in English or accompanied by certified English translations.)

    • CV in the specific EU Helpers format, including a recent professional (smiling!) photo
    • Degree Certificate and Academic Transcript
    • Full Passport Copy (all pages, valid and clear)
    • Recommendation Letters or Work Experience Certificates related to livestock or agricultural work

    Nationality Restrictions

    While the program welcomes applicants from most nationalities, it does not accept candidates from the following countries:

    • Pakistan
    • Somalia
    • Iraq
    • Iran
    • Cuba
    • Libya
    • Syria
    • Select African nations

    This restriction is based on program-specific guidelines and visa processing policies.
